The program will be conducted in English. You will need a basic fluency in the language to get the most out of the program.
The accelerator program will kick off in September 2022 to conclude in March 2023 and is composed of workshops, one-on-one consultations, mentoring, gender-smart training, learning labs, and masterclasses. Usually, these activities would last 1-3 hours per session every once to twice a week. Majority of the support is provided on a one-to-one basis, so you have the flexibility to schedule them as per your convenience. We expect participants to engage actively in the activities.
Selected social enterprise founders get a chance to be awarded a contract of up to PHP 140,000 to grow their business and advance the SDGs.
The program will select up to 10 social enterprises who are operating and/or creating impact in BARMM or broader Mindanao. A selection committee will assess applications, conduct virtual diligence through interviews with entrepreneurs, and provide analysis on individual business models, feasibility of innovations, potential for scale, sustainability, impact and capability of the team to execute, and growth capital needs. A financial due diligence and risk assessment will be conducted to identify risks in the business model, compliance and investment readiness. We highly encourage enterprises that are women-led or led by under-represented founders to apply.
In light of the community quarantine protocols, 80% of the training, mentoring, learning labs, and other activities will be held online. We will be meeting face-to-face during the onset of the program, selected learning lab sessions, and at the final phase of the program - the Impact Showcase. The venues will be a strategic and accessible area in Mindanao for the 10 social enterprises.
